Dengue Rangers SKTB had collaborated in gotong royong activity at Flat Desa Ria, Tangga Batu, Melaka.

On 29th October 2015, there were 30 representatives of Dengue Rangers had collaborated in gotong royong activity at Flat Desa Ria, Tangga Batu, Melaka. The flash mob show had been done as it was part of the warming up session before the gotong royong started. Then, the residents had been divided into several groups together with the Dengue Rangers. All of the groups needed to clean up all of the places which were being assigned to them.the activity is  aimed to educate the residents to always care for the cleanliness of the place they have been living to prevent the aedes from breeding.

Dengue Rangers SKTB have visited Briliant Educare Centre

Dengue Rangers SKTB with the bright children :)



2 October 2015 :
Dengue Rangers SKTB have visited Briliant Educare Centre at Bukit Rambai,Melaka to held a brief talk about the aedes and the dengue. The aim for the visit is to deliver the messages about the danger of the aedes to the children. The topics that have been delivered are 'Kenali Aedes (Knowing Aedes)', 'Kitaran Hidup Aedes (Aedes Life Cycle)' and 'The Danger of Aedes'. The visit is hoped to help the children to take care of the cleanliness and their health for those things will help to prevent themselves from the disease of dengue fever.

  1. It is native to the tropical and subtropical areas of Southeast 
Asia.
  2. However, in the past couple of decades this species has invaded many countries throughout the world through the transport of goods and increasing international travel.
  3. Characterized by its black and white striped legs, and small black and white body.
  4. Feeds in the daytime in addition to at dusk and dawn
  5. The female mosquito also bites other mammals and birds besides humans thus its be a potential bridge vector for certain pathogens like dengue virus.
  6. The female lays her eggs near stagnant water, running water and any open container containing water even with less than an ounce of water in.




  1. Originated from Africa, but is now present globally in tropical and sub-tropical regions.
  2. The mosquito is a small, dark mosquito with typical white markings on the legs and a marking of the form of a lyre on the thorax.
  3. most active during daylight, for approximately two hours after sunrise and several hours before sunset.
  4. The female needs blood to mature her eggs..
  5. The dengue virus is present in the salivary glands of the mosquito. 
  6. The mosquito Aedes aegypti comes in three polytypic forms: domestic, sylvan, and peridomestic :
  • The domestic form breeds in urban habitat, often around or inside houses.
  • The sylvan form is a more rural form,  and breeds in tree holes, generally in  forests.
  • The peridomestic form thrives in environmentally modified areas such as coconut groves and farms.
